Editorial status: official-source review completed August 30, 2026. We checked CyberGhost’s current checkout, privacy policy, third Deloitte no-logs audit announcement, Q2 2026 transparency report, server-security and protocol documentation, device limit, support, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms. A fresh QuickVPNs app, speed, leak, kill-switch, and streaming retest is still pending, so this page does not publish measured performance or unblocking claims.

CyberGhost review: the quick answer

CyberGhost is a reasonable shortlist option for readers who want clearly documented privacy controls, seven simultaneous connections, and longer-plan refund coverage. Its evidence has improved: the provider announced a third Deloitte no-logs audit, publishes quarterly transparency figures, and documents RAM-only production servers. The important limitation here is independent hands-on evidence. Until QuickVPNs completes a reproducible retest, we do not rank its speed, streaming access, P2P performance, leaks, or app reliability.

What we changed in this 2026 review

The old page described specific speed, leak, streaming, torrenting, usability, and competitor results as QuickVPNs tests without a preserved raw evidence pack. We removed those measurements and first-person experience claims. Official documentation can establish a policy, protocol, plan feature, or public audit; it cannot prove performance on our connection. New results will require the baseline, device, app version, protocol, server choice, raw runs, medians, timestamps, and original screenshots defined in our VPN testing method.

Privacy policy: VPN activity versus account data

CyberGhost’s privacy policy (cyberghostvpn.com/privacypolicy) says it does not track traffic inside the VPN tunnel, including browsing history, destinations, content, IP addresses, or DNS queries, and does not store connection logs tied to an IP address, timestamp, or session duration. Those exclusions address VPN activity—not every piece of information involved in running an account.

The policy describes account, billing, service-performance, and support data. It also says users may choose to send diagnostics to support and that a connection log can accompany a support ticket for debugging. Separate support documentation says group companies, including Kape Technologies entities, may receive account data for operational work under the same data-protection standards. That distinction is more useful than saying “CyberGhost collects nothing.”

Third Deloitte audit: useful but date- and scope-bound

CyberGhost’s 2025 privacy-audit announcement (cyberghostvpn.com/privacyhub/privacy-audit-2025/), updated February 24, 2026, says Deloitte Audit Romania completed the provider’s third independent no-logs review under ISAE 3000 (Revised). The described work examined how infrastructure and operational systems support the no-logs policy. A dated assurance engagement is valuable evidence, but it does not guarantee every future configuration, app release, or business process.

Q2 2026 transparency evidence

The Q2 2026 transparency report (cyberghostvpn.com/privacyhub/transparency-report-q2-2026/) records 64,006 DMCA complaints and five police requests for April through June. CyberGhost says it did not hold browsing histories, DNS queries, connection timestamps, or IP records that could reconstruct a person’s VPN activity. These are provider-published figures rather than an independent QuickVPNs review of every request, so we use them as ongoing disclosure—not conclusive proof by themselves.

RAM-only servers and operational limits

Current server-security documentation says production systems use RAM-only infrastructure, disable logs and debugging output, erase temporary system data on restart, and retain basic CPU or memory metrics for stability. RAM-only design reduces persistent-storage risk; it does not independently prove the full no-logs claim, which is why policy, audit, and transparency evidence are assessed together.

Protocols and platform availability

CyberGhost’s protocol guide lists WireGuard, OpenVPN, and IKEv2. WireGuard is documented for Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, Linux, Android TV, and Fire TV; OpenVPN for Windows, Android, Linux, Android TV, and Fire TV; and IKEv2 for Windows, macOS, and iOS. Platform availability matters: a generic “three protocols everywhere” checklist would be inaccurate.

Speed, leaks, and kill-switch test status

QuickVPNs has not completed a reproducible August 2026 CyberGhost performance run. We make no current claim about download loss, international speed, latency, reconnect time, DNS or WebRTC leaks, forced-disconnect behaviour, battery use, or gaming performance. A protocol’s design and a provider’s “fast” label do not replace measurements on our own connection.

The planned retest will preserve the unprotected baseline, device and operating system, app and protocol versions, selected locations, at least three runs per route, medians, leak-test output, kill-switch events, and original screenshots. Until then, performance comparisons with NordVPN, Proton VPN, Surfshark, or ExpressVPN remain unscored.

Streaming and P2P status

CyberGhost documents streaming-labelled and P2P server categories, but access can change by service, account, location, app, and server. QuickVPNs has no current logged streaming matrix or P2P transfer run for this update. We therefore removed the old Netflix, Hulu, BBC iPlayer, “worked flawlessly,” buffer-free, guaranteed-access, and measured torrent claims. Check third-party service terms and local law before use.

Seven simultaneous connections

The current checkout lists seven protected devices. That is a simultaneous-account limit, not a promise that every feature is identical on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, browser extensions, TVs, and routers. Buyers should check the relevant app and protocol guide for each required device before subscribing.

CyberGhost pricing checked August 30, 2026

The US checkout (cyberghostvpn.com/buy2) displayed the following direct-purchase options. Prices vary by location, currency, tax, campaign, payment channel, and add-ons; the live checkout remains authoritative.

Plan shownInitial billing shownRenewal shownRefund window
2 years + 2 months$56.94 total; displayed as $2.19/month$56.94 annually after the initial period45 days
6 months$41.94 every six months; displayed as $6.99/month$41.94 every six months45 days
1 month$12.99 monthly$12.99 monthly14 days

The displayed monthly equivalent is not a month-to-month price. The 26-month offer is billed once for the initial term and then renews annually. Taxes and optional add-ons may change the total. Confirm the selected product, initial charge, renewal amount, renewal cadence, and cancellation controls at checkout.

Refund and support terms

CyberGhost’s refund policy gives direct one-month subscriptions 14 days and subscriptions of six months or longer 45 days. App Store, gift-card, and third-party purchases follow the seller’s process and may not use CyberGhost’s guarantee. Disabling renewal does not itself request a refund.

The same guide lists email, support tickets, and 24/7 live chat. QuickVPNs has not completed a current response-time or resolution-quality test, so the support score reflects documented access rather than a first-hand service result.

Why the editorial score is 8.25/10

Scoring areaScoreEvidence and limitation
Platform security9/10Current policy, third audit announcement, quarterly transparency reporting, RAM-only documentation, and current protocol guidance
Risk-free and refund terms9/10Clear 14/45-day windows and captured renewal amounts; purchase-channel exceptions apply
Services and features8/10Seven connections and broad documented app features; current performance and streaming results are unscored
Customer support7/1024/7 live chat and multiple contact routes documented, but no current QuickVPNs response-quality test

The simple average is 8.25/10. This is an evidence score, not a current speed, streaming, P2P, or reliability score. It will be recomputed after the hands-on test instead of preserving the old 8.75 rating by default.

CyberGhost alternatives to compare

  • NordVPN review: compare its current audit record and wider commercial security bundle.
  • Proton VPN review: compare open-source apps, a strong free tier, and recurring no-logs audits.
  • Surfshark review: compare when unlimited simultaneous devices lead the decision.

How this review is funded
